Sports and Deep Tissue Massage involves the assessment and then treatment of the soft tissues in the body such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue.
Sports Massage - as a treatment uses techniques to alleviate the stresses and strains that build up in the body during recreational and occupational activity. By reducing these soft tissue and muscle lesions the massage helps to restore or enhance your body’s function.
Sports and Deep Tissue Massage is often seen as an essential element for optimising performance and function in the sports training and rehabilitation processes.
You can expect a physiological effect from Sports Massage treatments, including a
• Breaking down of scar tissue
• Acceleration soft tissue healing
• Increased blood circulation
• Increased lymph flow in limbs
• Improved muscle flexibility and contractibility
• Help with reducing heart rate and blood pressure
• Stimulation of endorphins (the body’s natural opioids)

Dry Needling - is a technique that many Physiotherapists and Massage Therapists use to treat muscle pain. Using a similar tool as the practice of Acupuncture, dry Needling involves inserting the needle into the skin and tissues to help specifically target and resolve pain trigger points. The main reason we offer this style of treatment is to promote tissue healing and to restore normal tissue function. Sports enthusiasts, and those of us who work their muscles every day lifting and pushing their bodies, can find this kind of activity eventually leads to poor muscle function and perhaps further damage and muscular pain.
Combined with other hands on treatment methods that we use in Massage Therapy, Dry Needling can reduce pain and help with the healing of normal tissue function.
As a remedial therapist Scarness QLD, I have an extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to determine how and where to treat problem areas.
